SH-44, LINDER ROAD TO BALLANTYNE LANE, DESIGN-BUILD PROJECT
Central Paving provides a better commute for Highway 44 travelers
Highlights: The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) needed to widen the two mile segment of SH-44 from three lanes to five lanes, and partnered with Ada County Highway District (ACHD) to improve the Idaho 44/Linder Road intersection. The project also featured a few challenges and innovations, such as integrating a 700-foot long gravity retaining wall along a large irrigation canal instead of a large box culvert, as initially planned. Our project team successfully worked with all stakeholders to resolve issues and complete the project on time. The pavement materials provided on the project received QC/QA bonus for exceeding the specified requirements. Project was the recipient of a 2013 Top Projects award from the Idaho Business Review.
